The Obama Regime

June 11th, 2008 by ahumbleservant

Last night, a nomination party was held for Barak Obama in San Francisco. His campaign staff hosted the free event, which was held at the fashionable Ruby Skye lounge outside of Union Square. The event was well attended: both in terms of numbers and diversity. There were people of all ages, colors, and professions congratulating one another for beating Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. There was something else quite apparent; everyone believed radical change was in the air, and right around the corner.

Enter the Obama Regime.

Barak Obama believes America needs change. It needs the type of change that “we can believe in”. Does America believe in unrestricted abortion on-demand? Does American believe in overturning existing state laws that provide for informed consent, waiting periods, health safety regulations for abortion mills? Does America believe in this type of change?

According to Peter J. Smith, Sen. Obama’s number one priority as president will be to provide total and unrestricted abortion on-demand. After all, one year ago, Sen. Obama vowed that abortion rights would be the top priority of his administration when addressing the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. During that speech, he promised to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (”FOCA”) if elected President.

FOCA is a bill Sen. Obama co-sponsored in the Senate that would annihilate every state law limiting or regulating abortion, including the recent federal ban on partial-birth abortion. The Act holds that it is the “policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to bear a child, to terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability, or to terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability when necessary to protect the life or health of the woman.”

In addition, FOCA would nullify state-level informed consent laws, waiting periods, health safety regulations for abortion mills. Further, doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who refuse to provide abortions would lose their legal protections, thus exposing them to civil actions expensive litigation for violating the Act.

Is this the type of change America needs?
